Today’s snippet saturday theme is departures! This is not so much a snippet as a very healthy excerpt, but hey! I figured why not shake things up a little! This excerpt is from Savage Need, story #2 in our Temple of Luna series.

They're awful, and insufficient in number, but we're still trying to get to the end of the story so that's what we have. Bit too foggy to say much here right now. Don't like that; there are things I have to say in these posts which vanish whenever it comes time to write them down.
Here's what we have this time:

| 3 hour easy apple cider
i have been craving hot apple cider lately in a crazy sort of way, and i would swear that one of the grocery stores in town used to cell bottles apple cider at this time of year. but all the stores in town have no apple cider, and i can only get to starbucks so often.
so i decided that i would make my own mulling spices mix and make my own apple cider. and then i walked past the holiday tea display, and i thought, i wonder....
needed: mini crock pot 3 cups of fresh pressed apple juice one bag of celestial seasonings ginerbread spice tea (cinnamin and ginger flavored tea) 1/2 tsp of cinnamin sugar 1 cup of water (optional)
toss everything into the mini crock pot and turn it on, cover it and leave it for 2 hours after two hours has passed, remove the tea bag, and leave for one more hour pour into cups and enjoy!
i've been putting half a tsp of dulce du leche in the bottom of my mug before i add the cider, makes for a really nice caramel added taste
the added bonus to making this is how amazing your house will smell while it cooks

| I've never posted here before, but I made my Yam and Apple Casserole in my crockpot yesterday for our Thanksgiving feast and it turned out great! (The link goes to my cooking community, prettygoodfood.) | |

| The other day, auntysarah wrote an article about the Day of Remembrance. Somehow a cis man wandered in and decided to shove his privilege in her face: Most straight men dislike mimicry and become offended by their discovery of false female appearance of anybody who are born as a male person.
I am not justifying any murder. All I said is that the cause of criminal act of murder committed by some straight men related to their aversion to false female appearance and behavior in relation to the preferences in sexual matters, and often in conjunction with prostitution. Once some man made contract (even illegal) on sexual services from any naturally born female person, and paid his money for the sex, but later discovered that he was fooled, he loosing his self-control and become a violent criminal. In fact, often it is not a murder but manslaughter, voluntary or involuntary – depends on circumstances. It's infuriating that this man thinks he can just stick his privileged cis nose into a discussion about the tragic deaths of trans women and in his backhanded way shit all over every one of the dead. He erases their identity, their gender and the tragedy of their deaths, blaming the victims for causing the poor men to become so upset they lose control and turn into violent criminals. Once again an agent of the Patriarchy tries to put us in our place, reminds us that to the Patriarchy we're not "real" women and that we deserve whatever grisly death a man can give us for having the temerity to "fool" him and make him seem gay. NOTE: auntysarah requests that you not engage this waste of skin in a flamewar in the comments to that article. Please do not feed the troll, do not derail the discussion.

| The Canadian Border Service Agency. Very good, guys. You know, China's example was not a "How to do it" tutorial. Freedom of Speech does not mean "Say what Harper wants to hear or else". Dear American readers. I appologise on behalf of my Government. | |

| Hey, guys. I hate to be that gal who has these questions before Thanksgiving is officially over, but I'm trying to do some planning for the next few weeks.
Where would people recommend driving around to look at lights in the next few weeks as we get closer to Christmas? Neighborhoods or parks, particularly. I really don't want to drive more than 30 minutes (I'm not too keen to go all the way to Oglebay or Greensburg), but I'd love to hear recommendations for places around the city.
Thanks, and I hope everyone is having a great Thanksgiving.

Me, myself and I are having a nice, quiet Thanksgiving here in the land of Michigan. Ate a rice-crust pizza for brunch and am planning on having rice and tuna for dinner. I may open a can of yams; definitely a bottle of junmai nigori. (Have I mentioned that I like rice? Quite fortunate, that.)
Yonder is Rena, heroine of Star Ocean: Second Evolution. Inked and colored in Manga Studio 4 from the sketch I did for page 27. Took me all afternoon, but I think it turned out quite nicely. MS 4 is much better for inking than MS 3; the pen size goes down to 0.03 mm, though this is done with 0.2 and 0.1 mm pens at 600 dpi. So now I'll say that Manga Studio is not one, but two orders of magnitude better than Adobe Creative Suite for cel-shaded comic art.
I finished playing SO:SE last night, which leaves me feeling sad, not because the ending is such a downer, but because I really like the characters in my party: Rena, Claude, Celine, Ashton, Welch, Precis, Chisato. We will meet again.
Now I need to finish Dragon Quest VIII so I can play Star Ocean: Till The End Of Time, and I'm going to play Gurumin for a third time, at the 'hard' level.

My favorite holiday is Quonset. Created by the cargo cults in the Pacific, it is a celebration of the bounty left in the metal huts by the men who flew through air. Every home has a hut built in the back yard and, once a year it is said, a shadowy figure known as "The General" comes in the night to leave presents for all the islanders.
